TPR Valve Replacement
The T&P valve opens around 210°F or 150 psi — it is the tank's last line of defense. We find out whether a dripping valve is worn out or warning you…
Where small drips start
The hot and cold connections at the top of the tank live through thousands of heat cycles, and over the years fittings loosen, flex lines fatigue, and dissimilar metals corrode where they meet. These are the leaks a seasonal glance would catch — a crust of minerals, a faint green tint on copper, a union that looks damp. We reseat or replace weeping fittings and dielectric unions, then show you exactly what to look for on your own monthly walk-by. Certified Professional, Licensed & Insured Team.

About this service
Top-of-tank leaks are the most preventable leaks we see. Dielectric unions separate steel from copper to slow galvanic corrosion, but they still age; supply flex lines develop pinholes; threaded connections work loose as the tank expands and contracts. We trace each drip to its fitting, replace what has failed with properly rated components, and pressure-test every connection before we leave.
Serving Wheaton, IL 60187 and surrounding neighborhoods, we finish every fitting repair the same way: standing with you at the top of the tank, pointing out the unions, flex lines, and joints to glance at each season. Thirty seconds with a flashlight, a few times a year, catches these leaks when they are still damp spots. Call (833) 713-2101.

How it works
We close the cold-water supply and shut off the gas or power, then relieve pressure so fittings can be serviced safely.
We dry the top of the tank and watch each fitting, union, and flex line to pinpoint exactly which connection is weeping.
We show you the failed fitting, explain why it gave out, and lay out the repair before any wrench turns.
Failed fittings, unions, and flex connectors are replaced with properly rated parts and every joint is pressure-tested.
We teach you the seasonal glance: what mineral crust, green copper, and damp unions look like, so you catch the next one early.
FAQ
Heat cycling, mostly. The tank expands and contracts thousands of times, working threaded connections loose, while dissimilar metals corrode where steel meets copper. It is slow and quiet — which is why a seasonal look at the top of the tank catches it before the drip reaches the floor.
It is the special fitting that joins the steel tank nipple to your copper piping, with an insulating sleeve that slows galvanic corrosion between the two metals. When its seal or sleeve fails, the joint weeps — and replacing it with the right union is a standard, lasting fix.
Almost always, yes. Fitting leaks are connection problems, not tank problems. Unless the tank nipple itself is corroded through or the tank shell is compromised, a proper fitting repair gives the heater many more years.
